in my own (non important and unneeded) opinion, you can only class yourself as a ‘type’ of individual: indie, vintage, etc if you go full out. That is my opinion anyway.. I admire those people who can just pull off these extravagant pieces of clothing that people may find “outdated” or odd, and they don’t care because that is who they are or want to be! Those who do it halfheartedness, yeah it is cool but that is just ‘a style’ i wouldn’t class it as something I’d say “vintage, pin up etc” if you blend it in with today’s society really. It looks nice, either way. I love pin up on the other hand, and grungy kind of things, but i have not a great collection. I am slowly building up my wardrobe, maybe one day I will get to a point where I can look in my wardrobe and not feel downhearted because everything just seems so unappealing to me! I love cute high wasted knee length skirts, and high neck lined dresses, pencil skirts and all that jazz, if only i had so much money i didn’t have to wait for it!
